چکیده

Rare earth elements have been widely utilized in material manufacturing to enhance properties various ways. In order obtain the WC-10Co4Cr coating with uniform distribution of rare earths, CeO2-modified powder was prepared by mixing 1 wt.% nano-sized CeO2 during initial ball-milling fabrication process. Bare and coatings were deposited via high velocity oxygen fuel spraying investigate impact modification on coating’s microstructure, mechanical abrasive wear performance. The results show that addition increased interface energy, inhibiting formation Co3W3C phase sintering process, as well W2C CoCr alloy high-velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) This led a significantly decreased porosity higher concentration undissolved Cr-rich areas. microhardness fracture toughness 1230 HV0.3 5.77 MPam1/2, respectively. resistance only 70.9% unmodified coating. Due weak cohesive strength between WC Cr, areas preferentially removed, resulting an rate

Effect of Carbide Particle Size on the Microstructure, Mechanical properties, and Wear Behavior of HVOF-sprayed WC-17% Co Coatings

This study investigates the effect of carbide particle size on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and abrasive wear resistance of WC-17%Co HVOF-sprayed coatings. The characteristics of WC-1, WC-2, and WC-3 coatings with carbide sizes of 1 µm, 0.9 µm, and 0.5 µm, respectively, were also investigated. WC-1 coating experienced the maximum carbon loss of 42%, while WC-2 and WC-3 coatings un...

Effect of WC Concentration on Abrasive Wear Properties of the Thermally Sprayed WC -Ni Coatings

In this work the effects of WC concentration on abrasive wear behavior by thermally sprayed WC coating was evaluated using three body abrasive wear tester. A different combination of WC and NI coatings were deposited on steel substrates by flame spraying using powder with different WC concentrations (0 %, 12.5 %, 25 %, and 50 %). Flame torch was used for heating and coating of process. Microstr...

Experimental and Numerical Study of Residual Stress in the WC-12Co HVOF Sprayed Coatings

Thermally sprayed coatings are intrinsically associated with residual stresses in the deposits. These stresses are varied in nature and magnitude, and have a pronounced effect on the mechanical behavior of the system. In the current study, WC-12Co coatings were deposited using HVOF thermal spraying. The sin2ψ method was used to evaluate the through thickness residual stress by means ...

Study of Wear Behaviour of Hvof and Cold Sprayed Coatings on Boiler Steels

In this study two commonly used steels in boiler plants, i.e. (SAE-213) T-22 and SA516 (Grade-70) were coated with different thermal spray processes namely HVOF and cold spray. The coating powder used was made up of NiCrTiCRe powder. The performance of the coated as well as uncoated material was investigated using a pin-on-disc machine [Model: Wear and Friction Monitor Tester TR-20], supplied b...

Synergistic effect of ultrasonic cavitation erosion and corrosion of WC-CoCr and FeCrSiBMn coatings prepared by HVOF spraying.

The high-velocity oxygen-fuel (HVOF) spraying process was used to fabricate conventional WC-10Co-4Cr coatings and FeCrSiBMn amorphous/nanocrystalline coatings. The synergistic effect of cavitation erosion and corrosion of both coatings was investigated. The results showed that the WC-10Co-4Cr coating had better cavitation erosion-corrosion resistance than the FeCrSiBMn coating in 3.5 wt.% NaCl ...
